Hi
Our Son got a Wii for Christmas. Now it is approaching his 6th birthday in a couple of weeks, he has asked for a Wii game - oh that has made shopping for a gift easier/lazier 🙂
Anyway want to find out whether there is a particular game you would recommend as being a great one for the boy or, dare I say, a great one for dad 😀
He has mario at the winter olympics and absolutely loves it and has even been following the winter olympics off the back of this game. Now he wants to be in the winter olympics 🙂
I on the other hand really live the Wii Sports - especially the tennis and table tennis
So, what game and why?
Hi Zaden
Mario Karts is a great game - it is incredibly competitive but superb fun - prepare to be beaten!!!
We have started buying pre-owned games from places like Game and the part exchanging them once the boys are fed up with them. Its a good way of saving some money especially as they are £30+ brand new.
The key to the Wii is that is great family fun and they love to beat Dad
Have fun
Mario
I love are Wii,my little boy is a bit young at the moment but when me and his Mum are playing mario kart he likes to pretend he's playing aswell.. 😀 D
I have to see if are Wii still works as the other day I caught him putting a load of pennys in the thing.. 🙄 🙄 😆 😆
My son is 4 and absolutely loves the Super Mario Bros game, I forget the name but you can have up to four players and the little characters have to work together (or individually) to go up the levels, it's fantastic! Only trouble is, I can't get him off it half the time!!!!
I don't think you can beat Mario Cart for multi player fun, even 'she who must be obeys' joins in and she hates console games.
I don't think you can beat Mario Cart for multi player fun,
I assume you are limiting this comment to console games 😆
ah, cheers guys, will check out Mario cart sounds like a good one
Sorry to piggy back on this thread but I have a similar problem - my dad is a big kid and loves Wii games (he's 60 😆 ) Would be great if anyone could recommend anything for me to get him?
well I quite like the tennis and table tennis in wii sports and sports resort respectively. Maybe those games are for the big kids 🙂
Have to say though Mario Kart and Sonic & Sega all starts racing is absolutely excellent.
If you are not sure what to buy, try signing up to Tesco's free for 14 days - they have a package for renting console games. I signed up for the 14 day period and got Mario Kart amongst a couple of others. Was really good, so went and bought it.
I really enjoyed it.
Family orientated Wii games are easy to come by and anything with Mario in it is sure to be of high quality. If you;re looking for something thats both fun and challenging then I'd reccomend New Super Mario Bros Wii.
Its a real "old-skool" side scrolling platformer like the famous Mario games from the early nineties, its full of the usual colourful characters which your kid will love and aslong as you have the correct number of Wii Remotes then you can play through the levels with upto 3 other people at once.
I'd also suggest a rental place, so you can try before you buy, either go to Blockbuster or use an online place like LoveFilm who have Games. Although the gamer in me would encourage you to buy brand new rather than pre-owned when you do buy something as a chunk of the money goes to the developer rather than just the store you're buying it from.
