Someone suggested we had an area to share recipes - cheap simple dishes that will not only feed our kids but are healthy too.

I will start with home made burgers:

Make using Pork or Turkey mince - much cheaper than beef and less calories and fat.

I also add peppers (red and green), mushrooms and some onion which I put in the blender to create a paste.
Add to this some breadcrumbs (1-2 slices) and mix together.
Then season using pepper, we also use some paprika!

Then gently fry in a pan (use olive oil or butter) or on the George Foreman grill.

This is also something that the kids can help make.

Just watch how little fat comes off the grill - a simple recipe takes about 20 minutes and you know exactly what has gone into it.

Great for lunch - or as a main meal make some potato wedges!!
