[Solved] Outlook calender

I've just created a mutual email address for ex and I, so we can hopefully use the Calender together.
I've set it all up on my iPhone.
If I slide the Calender tab and allow "sync" will my phone Calender sync with the outlook Calender so ex will be able to see what's on it?
I only want to sync the outlook to my phone, not phone to outlook?

Hi There,

I don't use apple, never got on with them.

normally a phone calendar would ask you which diaries you want to synch but I would be 100% sure on this, pop into an apple store i'm sure they would help.

I have no idea how iPhones work, but instead of having a mutual calendar (and I'm pretty sure that synchronisation would be both ways otherwise it's not really synchronised), can't you each keep your own separate calendars, but send invites to meetings (ie contact) to each other, which, if accepted, I would have thought would then appear in your own diaries?

I am not totally familar with IOS but here goes;

Assuming you are an iTunes user, this is the easiest way to sync up Outlook with your iPhone.

Make sure the iTunes plugin is enabled in Outlook.
Connect your iPhone to your computer. iTunes should open up automatically. If it doesn’t, you may manually open it by clicking on the iTunes icon.
Open the Info tab in iTunes. Next, select “Outlook” from the “sync contacts with:” and “sync calendars with:” drop down (here you can choose individual calenders)

More simply i would suggest using Microsoft exchange. Microsoft Exchange Server is calendaring software, a mail server and contact manager developed by Microsoft. Here you can create to accounts one for you and one for her and create a calender that shares to those accounts.

Hope this helps, any further questions and i'd be happy to give assistance.

Exchange is also very costly and designed for businesses so is not suitable for the average home user unless they want a server running 24/7 which is a definite argument starter! (Trust me!).

If you choose to only sync the calendar, then only the calendar entries in THAT calendar will sync. 🙂
