Hi Guys
So trying to teach my 6 year old how to ride a bike over Easter break. Anyone got any ideas, suggestions, advice. Currently we are trying with no stabalizers ..
cheers
Presumably he's being riding with stabilisers previously for a while so is reasonably confident.
Also, ride on grass - it's a bit harder to pedal, but less painfull if he does come off. And finally, when you are running behind and let go, keep running with him and encouraging him without letting him know that you've actually let go - that way he won't panic. Once he realises he's done it (I presume your wife will be videoing), there'll be no stopping him 😀
Hi there
We had a great experience with my youngest - who when he fell off a couple of times gave up!!
However we gave him an incentive to learn (think we said we would get him a hamster) and he got back on and was mobile the next day.
It shows that it is part confidence and part determination.
Good luck with it
