Im looking into installing CCTV outside the home.

Ive seen some 4 channel DVR kits and wondered if anyone has any experience and could recommend a good kit?

Regards,

Dave

Do you have a need for CCTV then?

Unfortumately yes as my ex has pitched up in the past and her step father showed up unannounced this weekend. Also if I ever get residency and they turn up to collect our chidlren or drop off then it is all on cctv and they cannot make false allegations as they have done in the past.

Dave

Hi There,

If your going to get one look at some of the packages that Maplin do, they have cameras and digital recorders as well as monitors all in for reasonable costs, I did see one in Makro for around £200 +vat the other day which was 4 cameras a 1tb recorder and colour minitor.

Having the recorder means it will record on a loop meaning you can just save the stuff you need and get rid of the rest.

Hi there,

I do think they are all pretty much the same.

When you think your not trying to protect the crown jewels, just help to keep yourself on an even keel.

This is the one I was looking at but yet to take the plunge as I may have to move.

I picked up a mini DV camera on ebay recently (sent from China in about a week) - cost me just over £5 and produces a fairly reasonable picture - the camera is only slightly larger than a AA battery, so would be easy to conceal - worth getting at least one of these which you could easily wear/carry as additional coverage, in addition to the CCTV kit you are considering.
