Morning Chaps
Bit about me: ag 28, father to a 11 month old boy (Joseph), in full time work.
I am lucky enough to have a work that operates a flexi-time policy, so I work longer hours monday to thursday and have friday afternoon off with Joseph.
does any-one know of any clubs or stuff do in the leicestershire on a friday?
Hi a18cey
If you try to contact your local childrens centre they will have all sorts of groups going on and are bound to have something on a friday afternoon. You can also try the local libary and council to get some ideas of local groups.
Hope that gives you some ideas
www.netmums.com are organised on a regional basis and often have lists of local stuff. They seem happy to have dads on board.
If you contact your local families information service they will be able to provide you with information on activities in your area on a friday afternoon
There is an article on the main site with links to family information services... check it out http://www.dadtalk.co.uk/articles/six_weeks_to_fill.php
Also check out the www.IdeasForTheKids.co.uk listed in that same article
Actually i followed the link to the Family Information Services, and you have to select FIS in England from the drop down "find a service" - but i did a bit of looking for you on leicestershire and couldn't find anything so i went on the Lecestershire county council web site and found this page http://www.leics.gov.uk/index/children_ ... family.htm
It says this about the services :
The revamped Family Information Service now advises on a range of different subjects - from healthy eating, through to play and leisure activities for the whole family. Staffed by a team of information specialists, this new helpline is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for parents and carers in Leicestershire.
Its manager, Jackie Cockcroft explains:
“We aim to provide parents with reliable, comprehensive information throughout their entire family cycle – all the way from birth into young adulthood. Our goal is to ensure that parents and carers across Leicestershire have access to a full range of parenting support services.
Our service works closely with our partners such as Children’s Centres, Connexions and Health Visitors to ensure that parents have access to all the help and information they may need."
Please Call 0116 305 6545 or email family@leics.gov.uk for any advice or guidance you may require.
Shame this stuff isn't on the web thou....
Dadtalk can you help us? We want it searchable on the web.....
