Hi All, I am looking for a double Din Car Stereo, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows which might be best for use with an Android phone? Any advice appreciated.

Hi,

A lot will depend what car it is going to be fitted too, there are lots of "app" based car audio options now and a lot have "mirror screen" where your phones screen gets mirrored onto the stereo.

the app radio's will use your data for satnav and dab ect but if you have a good data allowence on your phone plan that wouldn't be an issue.

Other wise look for a good quality make in the price range that you have to spend, try and get DAB, SatNav and Bluetooth (Bluetooth wise anything with Parrot operating software will be very good.

Depends on what you want it to do, and how much you are willing to spend. Parrot is excellent for phone calls, but their current model (parrot asteroid smart) might have an issue with the satnav as I think there's some dispute between parrot and Tomtom about ongoing maintenance. Possibly the same with Sony and Tomtom on their cheapest satnav model (a mere £500 if you want the satnav module included). The problem I found is that it currently seems to cost more if you have an android phone than the options available to apple.

Also, if you are thinking of getting a unit with android mirrorlink, research very thoroughly whether your phone is compatible with the unit - I came across this issue where very few phones were supported with one of the units I was looking at, my phone certainly wasn't - that's a Nexus 4 running the latest version of Android (5.1)
