I'm really enjoying the winter games this time round.
I thought the woman's downhill was amazing fun - never seen so many skiers crash out, made the whole thing really exciting. The large girl the fell over just as she left the gate (before she made the slope) was the funniest thing I have seen all year. Really impressed with the girls that made it all the way down.
The curling has been good fun as well, real skill and some strong tactics needed to win the games - who would have thought a sport that involved using a broom could be so much fun to watch.
Added to that the tea trays (sorry skeleton bob) - which you have to be mental to take part in , and we actually have someone that's quite good at it. 😆
❓ Any one else enjoying the games or is it just me ?
Hi
I haven't seen as much of the games as I'd like but despite the weather and the criticism the games have received, particularly in the British press, it all looks good to me. Got any plans to attend 2010 Olympics?
Hi Mikey
I am hoping you mean the 2012 games, which fantastically will be in our home country.
I think every resident of the UK should try to attend at least one event, we are never likely to host again in our life time.
The 2010 winter olympics have been great, the ladies downhill so was so enthralling that our 13 year old daughter watched 2 hours worth ( mainly because of the crashes), and laughed her socks off at the French skier who only just made it out of the games.

Yes looking forward to 2012, I want at least 2 of my kids to go to watch - which will be really good, but the other side of me dreads the trek (and I only 45 mins train away from London). At least they will be 2 years older!
You spotted my deliberate mistake!
Did anyone watch the Men's Ski Cross last night. What an amazing event - you've got to be seriously crazy to want to take part but congratulations to Michael Schmid the first person to win a Gold medal in this event.
I think the women's Ski Cross is on in a couple of days time, and will no doubt be equally as thrilling.
Will catch up on it this evening. I am sure that to do some of those high speed sports you have to be a certain type of need for speed "character". 🙂
I really enjoyed the Ski Cross - what a cracking event. Really really fun.
Can't wait for the womens Ski Cross
Not a great olympic fan normally, but some of the events are brilliant. Love the curling, and the louge doubles. I loved the comment by the woman who introduces each event, roughly " the louge doubles is open to both men and women, but only men are competing. Maybe women have more sense"
😆
Hi all
I went to the Commonwealth Games when they were in Manchester and I intend taking the two weeks off for the Olympics to take the kids to as many events as I can afford - would love to see some British winners.
Really want to see some Athletics, Cycling and Swimming but also some of the lesser events
Mario
PS - I loved the snowboarding cross, very exciting stuff!!!
