Ok - my birthday is on the horizon and I have been asked by the OH to put together a list of what I would like - so her and the kids have some choice.

We have a Wii and I have a ps2 somewhere buried in my tech laden office. I may ask for a console so what do i ask for a xBox or a ps3 ? why ? what are the advantages of one over the other ?

When are the likely to by replaced by new models ?

Merci Buckets in advance for any advice you can offer.

All depends on your gaming needs. I have a PS3 as it's more stable than the XBox, and it offers free online gaming as you already have the internet. Where as on the XBox you have to pay for your online gaming needs.

Both consoles pretty much offer the same games, and similar packages, like Kinect on the XBox and Move on the Playstation.

Personally I avoided the XBox due to the dreaded Red Ring of Death, which shouldn't happen so much in the newer systems.

As far as i'm aware neither are planning a new release in the near future, so it's down to personal preference.

I've heard that while the quality of the Xbox games is better, there is a wider choice of games for the PS3. Either would do me. I have nothing!(
However, I do have the internet so can anyone suggest any decent quality on-line games?

Normally I would hate to disagree with a mod (daddyto4) but I think the graphics on the ps3 are of a better standard to the xbox.

The quality of the games is pretty similar, and with both consoles you get titles that are exclusive to said box.

As for online PC games, ermm, there's plenty of MMORPG's out there that a free to play, of course you could also go and play something like WOW if you really as desperate and have cash to spare πŸ˜†
