Hi all
Not sure this is sport but it certainly provided my kids with some entertainment!!!
Whilst in Cornwall this summer we decided as a family to have surfing lessons which I have to say certainly filled me with some intrepidation imagine - I am the wrong side of 40 and about 6 jean sizes smaller than the instructors, balding and just about the opposite to your regular surfer dude!
However I survived lesson one and can get to my feet on a surfboard (just and only for seconds), I now ache all over but the kids thought it was brilliant and hopefully something they can now do for the rest of their lives!!
If you haven't done it then try it - it is great fun and the feeling of satisfaction is immense.
What are you attempting for the first time this year?
Rally Driving: throwing a Ford Focus round a dirt track at speed for a morning ...learned how to use the brakes to steer, do handbrake turns and stall the car (not sure I was meant to do the last one). Great fun! Then did a final lap in the passenger seat with a 'proper driver' 😮 ) ( .
Great thread Mario and like you I got on a surfboard for the first time this summer. I was in Devon and was persuaded to go surfing (which I have on good authority, definitely is a sport) by the kids. It's really not as easy as it looks is it?! Good fun though, I'll definitely give it another go when I'm next back down there.
