In my book it has to be Brian Clough. The greatest England manager that never was! "Now listen here young man.........."
Well before Gooner gets in with the virtues of Mr Wenger (who even changed his name to match the club!!!) I think we need to be clear of some criteria
Success - titles and silverware
Consistency - did they ever have a poor season (could rule out Mr Clough as he did get relegated in final season!)
Legacy - how successful were the club after he left
Career - did they have success at more than one club
Money - did they buy success or did they make it
I am sure there are a few others but on this basis the nominations should be:
Sir Alex Ferguson (Man U and Aberdeen)
Sir Matt Busby (Man U)
Bill Shankley (Liverpool)
Brian Clough (Derby, Leeds and Nottm F)
Bob Paisley (Liverpool)
However I think there should be special mention to Harry Redknapp who has had success wherever he has gone and to do what he has done at Tottenham is amazing.
Agreed. Rednap must surely be in line for the England job!
I hope so but think the FA will bottle it as Redknapp will not be popular with the stuffy old men in ties!!
Harry in court for tax evasion - there are just too many reasons not to appoint him
They will probably plump for Alan Pardew
Greatest manager of all time has to be Brian Clough.
Won the league with two unfashionable clubs and won the European cup with Forest twice.
And I would not have dared mention Wenger......not at the moment anyway ; )
He has given Arsenal fans a lot to cheer about - including some incredible players to the English game.
It is a shame he is a stubborn fool who won't spend when all around him are and who doesn't recognise that in order for Arsenal to move forward he needs to go.
Not sure who will replace him though - think Rafa is available!!!
think Rafa is available!!!

The longest serving manager at a single club was Fred Everiss who managed West Brom from 1902 to 1948
The shortest serving was Leroy Rosenior who managed Torquay for 10 minutes!!!!
i could do a better job than rafa 😆
Rafa had one lucky season and one lucky result and lived off the memory for many years
I'm sorry Gents, you're all wrong.
It's me.
I took Wycombe Wanderers into Europe on FM2010...
