[Solved] Racism in Football

What is going on in football - two high profile players accused of making racist comments.

Surely other players, the referees or the linesmen would have heard these made. If not then surely Sky TV could have shown the images and then a good lipreader would confirm or not.

If these accusations are true then football has the opportunity to deal with this in the strongest way, if not then the players making false allegations should be punished.

This could potentially undermine the game and needs to be sorted once and for all.

I'd be surprised if anything is done about Terry, despite the cameras picking up on it big time, afterall he's England captain, he'll get off with being stripped of the captaincy again. There's bigger uproar about this one than the Suarez/Evra one, which only Evra and Suarez seem to know what's been said so it's hard to make out what to make of that one.

So Liverpool in trouble again - a young Oldham player racially abused by some mindless thug at Anfield.

This follows the whole Luis Suarez farce and the club are getting a very poor reputation.

Dalglish has issued a statement but does it go far enough? They need to ban the muppet and anyone who agreed with him for life, they need to make amends for the poor behaviour and try to restore the damage.

This could set football back years - I remember going to matches in the 1980s and it was ugly

Times have changed and so must football NOW

I agree - there is no place in football for racism or racists.

It's a shame that these two things have happened over a short period of time so rather than being seen as two seperate incidents it does look like a pattern and yes Liverpool FC reputation doesn't look great at the moment.

Oldham have thanked Liverpool for their response following the alleged racist abuse of Latics midfielder Tom Adeyemi.

Liverpool and Merseyside police have identified a suspect and he has been arrested and questioned. I would guess the club will ban him if there is evidence to prove he was involved.

I think your club have reacted well to this one mate.

They have acted quickly but they have missed an opportunity to publically throw this supporter to the lions by stating they will ban him and any other for life.

Unless I have missed this

Having witnessed the nonsense with Man U and Liverpool last weekend I thought I would share this clip with you from the Aston Villa Man City where yet another handshake is deliberately missed

I thought that Sky did well to add some humour into a troubled weekend!!!
