So guys what did you think of it? The most watched programme in the history of British tv! And apparently there were still 20million people watching it at midnight.

Personally I went to bed when the country names were at 'B'.

I thought Danny Boyle did an awesome job and the best bit was the Queen and James Bond, closely followed by the Mr Bean part. What must the rest of the world really think of us??

What are your thoughts?

Yep, I agree with you on the best bits, plus those chimneys rising out of the floor. The torch itself was a superb bit of engineering and design.

I thought it was outstanding (and trust me I was expecting it to be rubbish) - can not praise it highly enough.

Loved the lighting of the Olympic cauldron - brilliant idea to get the kids to do it and what a brilliant and beautiful design the actual cauldron was.

I thought it was an amazing spectacle and we were glued to the tv until 1am!!

Loved the James Bond, Mr Bean etc but also thought that allowing the "future" to light the cauldron was inspired as was the cauldron itself - we were all wondering why they were being carried and it was truly amazing.

Proud to be British!!
