So John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy until after his court case - should he not be dropped from the team?
Or dropped from a helicopter?
Or dropped from a helicopter?
Come now gentlemen...
Innocent until proven guilty and all that lol
I agree with Fabio: The FA should NOT have undermined the manager.
I agree with Fabio: Innocent until proven guilty.
I agree with Sir Alex: The manager is the most important person in the team.
However,
...as manager, Fabio should have read the situation, understood English sensibilities and done the deed himself. I think he forced the FA's hand and I totally agree with their decision. There is nothing unusual about suspending someone, pending investigation.
...as captain, John Terry should have stopped clinging on to his dead role as captain and stepped aside, gracefully and honourably.
Terry and Capello are both culpable for this mess. They are a couple of arrogant dinosaurs. Good riddance to both of them ..apart from John Terry, who we could probably do with in defence at the Euros later this year.
I actually think Terry and Ferdinand are done now, but I'm not sure that we have better replacements.
Harry for the job, next. Has to be. Everyone on the planet thinks so; anyone else would be second choice.
I think John Terry should have fallen on his sword and asked to step down - Fabio could have made it look like his decision and then everyone would be happy.
What I don't get is Chelsea a playing the major role - they have not suspended him, they asked the court to delay the hearing therefore forcing the FA to act and they are allowing their fans to behave badly by booing Rio Ferdinand last weekend
I would not take Terry to the Euros at all to teach him and his club a lesson
Cahill, Lescott, Jagielka (if fit) and Rio and possibly even Ledley King
I think maybe we are seeing the division between club and country at play here. Whilst not good for the national team, It suited Chelsea to put this off until the end of the season. I guess whether you play or wear the armband is also slightly different with respect to club and country; perhaps it is 'less right' for someone representing the country to have a racism charge hanging over them.
I didn't see the Chelsea match, but I cringed all the way through Liverpool V Man U, as Evra got boo'ed every time he got the ball. I don't quite get it. Are fans booing people because they are black and received racist comments?
I would probably add Phil Jones to the list to take. Not sure that he is the finished product yet, but attacking, capable of adding a bit of spark and a pretty good work in progress.
Whoever is the next manager (or Harry, as most people know him) is going to have to be brave and start to move some of these oldies aside.

Agree about not taking Terry but taking Ledley King, Rio & Jag is a massive risk as they are all injury prone (actually I have mentioned them is desending injury proneness order  )
Cahill, Lescott, Phil Jones, Michael Dawson
So our favourite Racist (alledgedly), Womanising England captain has disgraced himself by losing control against Barcelona

Apparently if they win he is going to be allowed to lift the trophy - I dont think he should be allowed in the stadium!!
