Just been watching the first half of the England match and been wondering after a very ordinary display. How many truly world class players do we have in the squad. Hand on heart I can count Rooney, behind him we have some good internationals and some reasonable club players but not really convinced that any of the rest are World Class. How many would really walk into the Brazil, Spain or Argentine first 11 ?

Gerrards effort wasn't bad.

The worrying thing is how contained Rooney seems - and this is just Mexico...

Good goal by Johnson but don't think you could describe him as world class though.

I Thought the game passed Gerrard by whilst he was out on the left - he did better in the centre but he is not world class.

Maybe not on last nights performance would you call Gerrard world class but I would say he defo is,you've got to wonder with it being a friendly just before the Wc what Cappelo said to them, your not going to want them all busting a gut in a friendly which I would think is mainly to decide who might or not be on the plane.

We will see a much different Gerrard/Rooney etc when the tournament kicks off im sure.

Great goal from Johnson though.

Back to topic of World class player we have-Rooney/Lampard/Gerrard are surely, there's not that many players that would get in Brazils team.

I think Rooney and maybe Gerrard......not fat Frank though.

If you offered me Gerrard & Lampard or Xavi & Iniesta I would pick the Spanish lads, now they are world class.

Frank and Stevie are good internationals but not world class when compared with actual world class players.

Could I suggest Ca$hley Cole as a potential world class left back ?

Cashley ??? interesting. I guess you have to ask yourself would Brazil, Spain or Argentina pick him.

Thinking about it yes ( as much as i dislike the little toad now 😉 ) I have to admit that all three teams would deffo pick him.

I think we've got a few who on their day could produce world class performances. Rooney, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry, Ashley Cole and probably Lampard. If they can perform to their potential (a big if!) then we have a chance. Come on England!

Rooney is world class - but I am not sure he would get into the Argentina team.

Maybe this is about the team and not the individuals - and maybe I am living in cloud cuckoo land
