So sad today to hear of the death of Gary Speed, the Welsh Football Manager. He, in worldly terms seemed to have it all; amazing career ahead of him, a wife, two sons and yet something led him to take his own life. It's hard to imagine what could have brought him to a place of such unhappiness & I wish there could have been someone he could have turned to for help. My thoughts & prayers go out to his wife & kids today.

I agree one of the games good guys - he was the first player to reach 500 Premier League appearances.
I just hope there was nothing sinister in his private life to force him to take his own life and I also hope that the press leave him to rest in peace and his family to mourn in private.
So sad - saw him on football focus and never saw any signs of what was to come. 😯
Model pro and just very sad that he felt this was his only way out.
On the plus side its been encouraging to see all football fans come together and show their appreciation in a dignified manner.
I think the tributes last weekend were amazing - every ground, every fan clapping and appreciating a genuine footballer.
Very emotional scenes at Newcastle, Leeds, Bolton and Everton and to see his father in tears does put a sense of perspective into it all.
