Here are my predictions:

Man C
Chelski
Arsenal
Man U

Reading, Southampton and QPR

First manager to get the sack Jol

I agree - Berbatov is a good signing and could be the best signing of the new season

Although Steven Fletcher for Sunderland is also looking good

Football united last weekend to come together to show its support for the families of the Liverpool fans who died at Hillsborough. Many grounds put something up on their big screens, some played You'll never walk alone.

At Everton the teams were led out by two mascots - one wearing an Everton kit and the other a Liverpool kit with the numbers 9 and 6 on their back - holding hands. The music was "He ain't heavy he's my brother" by the Hollies.

A city united - football united and for a moment people realised that there are more important things than football.

After being beaten by Man Utd today Liverpool are now in the bottom 3. Oh dear!!!

But with the rememberance of Hillsborough and Munich, I guess it puts it all in perspective. Its only a game

I wouldn't count on it especially as this time last year we all delighted in the position Arsenal were in

Guess who ended the season with a great big grin!!

I predicted Mark Hughes to be first to be sacked early in the season - got that wrong should have remembered that winning the FA Cup and Champions League and sitting in 3rd place clearly isn't acceptable.

You were close enough. Nobody would have expected Chelski to sack Di Matteo just yet - even most blues fans seem mystified by the overreaction to a couple of bad results.

And intend booing the new interim manager for the remainder of the season

Not sure what Rafa is going to bring - still living on the memory of 2005

So Sir Alex thinks that Mourinho may be the man to take over from him at Man U - can't see it myself.

And Wenger to Paris St Germain?

Can Redknapp keep QPR up?

Can Rafa last a month?

He would be great but I think they will want someone high profile. Agree with Mario, I think they will want Mourinho. His record is outstanding - won things where ever he has been, a bigger enough name and personality to be able to cope with the shadow of Sir Alex

Simple answers are (imho) :

He will see out his contract unless Arsenal sack him. I think we are stuck with him 🙁

QPR - no chance, they are gone.

Yes Rafa will last till the end of the season.

So Nigel Adkins has been sacked - clearly rescuing a club floundering in the third tier isn't good enough

It makes you hope they get relegated (similar to Wolves last year!)

I have a soft spot for Mario. Wouldn't want him at The Arsenal but he's a great character to have in the league.

Genuinely sad to see him go.

I thought as the January transfer window draws to a close I would remind you all of your predictions at the beginning of the season:

GoonerPlum:
Man C
Chelski
Arsenal
Man U

Reading, Southampton and QPR

First manager to get the sack Jol

Super Mario:

Man U (hate saying it) - Champions
Man C 2nd
Chelsea 3rd
Liverpool 4th

To go down:
Reading, Southampton and Swansea

First Manager to be sacked - Mark Hughes

Daddyto4

1st Man Utd
2nd Chelsea
3rd Man City
4th Newcastle

Arsenal and Liverpool mid table

Relegated
QPR, Southampton, Reading

1st manager sacked - Wenger

caligulacabbage

Manchester United
Arsenal
Manchester City
Chelsea.

Mid table Fulham (COYW) Everton

go down Southampton West Bromwich and Reading.

Interesting that everyone apart from me seem to have got the champions right (the way the league looks at the moment).

Dont too cocky - remember Hull City!!!

Although I do think that was a bad one by me - Swansea playing really attractive football and very welcome

I reckon QPR will escape

You think? Think QPR are gambling an awful lot on surviving.......... Not sure how they are funding all the players they have at the moment.

I guess if anyone can keep them up then Harry can.

Amazing if you compare them with QPR - both came up at the same time. Swansea seem to have quietly gone about building a good team and cementing their place in the top flight - QPR's purchases have always felt more high profile but been no where as successful.

Yeah I know its a risky one but I think Redknapp will save them - he has done it before and I think if he can get a run of results going similar to Wigan last year who knows!!

Some bookies now paying out on Utd winning the title

So Sunderland get rid of Martin O'Neill and replace his with the "Maverick" Paolo DiCanio - good luck with that one!!

I am not sure they will go down as QPR, Reading and one of Villa or Wigan look favourites so why do Sunderland need to panic!!!

Well my team Colchester United look to have survived the drop, Im hoping to see Bradford pip Southend in the playoffs and come up, as it will be an easy trip for me next season, After our recent display at Oldham Im not confident we wont be back in the same position next season.

Di Canio.. crass stupid decision insensitive to the Wearsiders and their families who fought facism in the war.. and against Franco. Non Pasaran.. !!

Nothing to do with Southend being local rivals to Colchester then. 😉

You not quite mathematically safe yet though are you? 👿 I would imagine you are but........... as spurs have found out recently - Don't count your chickens (quite apt for spurs now I think about it 😆 )

I have to say that nobody batted an eyelid when Di Canio was appointed at Swindon

Now its been made into a political story by the resignation of David Miliband - who interestingly may have resigned anyway as he is moving to America to take up his new role!!

Di Canio will be a laugh in the PL if he can keep Sunderland up and imagine if he does and Mourinho returns next season? We'll be spoiled for choice :woohoo:

Cardiff one point away from promotion go them! Also Newport are guaranteed a play off spot with the hope of getting back into the Football League, so fingers crossed.

Was always going to be Bale. He is the reason Spurs are challenging for a top four spot this season.

Be happy we he buggers of to Madrid or Barca next season. ;;)

Did you hear that the players in attendance booed Suarez name being announced. Seems odd as they voted for him.

Ha! What did I say five months ago! Man U will go for Moyes because he's great mates with Fergie and won't mind Fergie sitting on his shoulder or accepting advice, whereas Murhinio will have his own style and his ego is massive so he won't be taking advice or guidance from Fergie....just my opinion!

You may be right but the rumours a couple of weeks ago was that the outgoing manager from Bayern Munich could also be targetted.

Although the bookies reckon it will be Moyes as he is 20-1 on!!!

Love these odds though

David Beckham 100/1
Kenny Dalglish 250/1
Howard Webb 1000/1

What about Roberto Martinez as next Everton manager?
