Hi dads - I hope you don't mind me posting this in here but I wanted to make you aware of a great event we're working on at the moment called 'Be a Gunner be a Runner' we've teamed up with Arsenal for a charity fun run around the Emirates stadium on March 13th to raise money for Great Ormond Street.
Would any of you be interested in getting involved?
Chris (GOSH)
Could you give us some more details - I personally would be honored to trek round the home of football. Is there a minimum sponsorship amount that each person needs to raise ? how many laps etc 😀
Hey Goonerplum (great name) Thanks for getting back to me, I'm really pleased you want to get involved. The fun run will be ten laps round the Emirates stadium and you have to raise a minimum of £100. It should be a really fun day out and it's to raise money for a new Arsenal Lung Function Unit. Here's a link where you can find out more info about entering http://www.beagoonerbeagiver.org/news/view.php?Id=1173
Well done you! Let me know if you need any further info.
Hi Goonerplum
Could this be classed as a lap of honour - if so this would be the first of those at Arsenal for a long time?
😆 😆 😆
Great cause though and one to support
Mario
Hi Mario - surely the Gooners last lap of honour at the home of football was Wednesday night, can't remember who we beat - some team that was big in the eighties 😆
Hey Mario - I take it you'll be signing up for the run as well then 😉
Hmmm I am not sure about that - can I wear my Liverpool strip?
Do you fancy a race then Mr Goonerplum?
However I must warn you I came 115th in the 1st year Cross Country out of 120 - and I have put on several stone since then!!! I may not be the favourite!
Mario (Ovett, Coe or should it be Bolt?)
PS
I have ordered a pair of spectacles for the referee who clearly missed a penalty - not that I am bitter
Hey guys - Hope you're all looking forward to the Emirates fun run!
Just in case any of you are big West Ham fans, we're also doing a Zip Slide event at their grounds on June 19th 2010. Places are limited so hurry if you want a place - here's a link http://www.gosh.org/get-involved/challenge-events/zip-slide/
Cheers, Chris
Hi
How did all the runners get on ?
A couple of friends of mine did the run and had a fantastic day, each raised £200 - do you know how much was raised in total ?
Thanks
mags
Hi Mags - Thanks for asking. It was a really good day out, loads of fun and a great venue at the amazing Emirates stadium. Right after the event, we knew we had raised over £41K but there was still more to come in.
Would you be interested in hearing about the next big fundraiser we've got coming up?
Chris
