Hi

I assume the mother isn't prepared to assist in any way. The problem I see is that with you being homeless, you are going to find it difficult even starting the process as you will need a correspondence address for anyone to be able to contact you. It might be worth giving Corams Childrens Legal Centre a call to see if they can advise. www.childrenslegalcentre.com

Hi there

Have you spoken to your probation officer about this? They should be able to offer some advice, or point you in the direction of agencies that may be able to help.

It's great that you are beginning to get yourself back on your feet. You need to get properly settled, perhaps find a job and keep yourself on the straight and narrow.....if you turn things around for yourself then you have a chance of getting things back on track with your son. It won't be easy but if you are determined, have the right attitude and have the patience of a saint, it can happen.

For the time being stay away from any possibility of bumping into them, usually mediation is the first step, but if there's a restriction on you mediation isn't appropriate. The next step is to apply to court for a Child Arrangements Order. For this you will need form C100, perhaps your probation officer can help you with this. There's a fee for applying, usually £215, but if you are receiving benefits then you would be entitled to an exemption from this and you would need form EX160a to claim it.

As I said it won't be easy and there's no guarantee of success , the court could order indirect contact, or supervised contact in a contact centre, or worse case scenario, they will refuse your application....you won't know until you try.

Best of luck

Hi There,
.
I'm guessing you are in the US so the link above may not be able to help you too much as it will be around UK family law.
.
I think as said your first thing to try is speaking with your probation officer to see what help they can give, it's their job to try and help you not just to keep tracks on you.
