Hi all,
It's great to see the support available on here!! I'm a new member but after reading through the board, I was surprised to see the level of support some members offer others. It's comforting to know there are some good people out there!
I'm about to move to Northamptonshire and am looking to join a local group or two when I get down there.
I just wondered what groups are available in other parts of the country as I can see very few parents/fathers groups in the region I'm moving to. Or, what other types of groups are out there even?
Just nervous about moving to somewhere I have absolutely no support.
Thanks
Scott
Hi Scott
There's a shortage of dads groups I think!
Have a look through the local papers, contact sure start and ask them if there are any groups, google.....some schools have dads groups, I know my grandsons school runs Dads club every other Saturday.
Alternatively start one up yourself.
Good luck with the move

We had one of those round here for a while, though the funding was cut for it. However, you could approach the council and see if there is one, and if not, as NJ says, start one up and see if you can get the council to provide a suitable location for you.
Thanks ACDT and NannyJane!
I'm on with trying to locate some groups but the area I'm moving to doesn't seem to have any thus far. The council were completely obnoxious with me when I called them! They said they'd take my number and look into it but I haven't heard anything.
I'll be moving in three weeks all being well and am dreading it one minute, but can't wait to be near my son the next. I've moved abroad in the past with no worries but I feel really daunted by the prospect of moving (hopefully), finding a job and a new set of friends.
Thanks for the input and I'll keep you updated when I find any groups relevant.
Scott
Sorry ACTD!!
Was wondering what you were apologising for - if you hadn't, I'd never have spotted it anyway π Nothing I'm worried about.
