The government are apparently considering moving the clocks forward by one hour for a three year trial period. That means in winter would be on BST and in summer we would be on BST +1.
So effectively ending GMT, check out the story here.
Any thoughts ?
Dammit - I like GMT. It's a British institution :geek:
I remember a similar trial when I was young, and it didn't stick then, so don't know why it would now. It does seem that whatever is done, someone is always going to have a good reason to hate it. Maybe a change in attitude to working hours would be better - mandatory introduction of flexitime (unless there are operational reasons not to) might be a better solution.
All I hear off the old folk in the family is that they tried something similar in the 60's/70's whenever it was, and it didn't work as it was darker longer etc, so what real difference would it make now?
All I hear off the old folk........
I'll just get my zimmer frame π
Don't forget to change the time in your options (user control panel) to make sure that you are using GMT and that your DST is off π
Found this interesting fact in the news:
In November 2007, Laura Cirioli of North Carolina gave birth to Peter at 1:32 and, 34 minutes later, to Allison. As Standard Time starts at 2am, Allison became the older twin π
