Hi all,
Mods - Please move thread if you need. Wasn't too sure where to post.
Soon i'm going to be needing to travel to near Sevenoaks (to see my little boy) from the North West on Friday Evenings or Sunday Mornings and Sunday afternoons.
What would all your advice be on roads to use?
M6 > M6 Toll > M40 > M25
or
M6 > M6 Toll > M6 > M1 > M25
Any advice would great.
Hi mate.
It all depends on times to.
generally speaking I prefer the m40 route because of no road work. I hate m6 with a passion as there is endless road work and m1.
m40 is a smooth drive.
safe travelling.
The M1 is predominantly roadworks at the min with a 50mph speed limit. Not sure on the M40....Either way it's not going to be an easy journey for you. If you come in on the M40 you will end up anti clockwise on the M25 but if you come in on the M1 you can go either way around depending on traffic. I pass Sevenoaks on my journey home and it'[censored] and miss which side is congested.....
Might be worth considering crossing the Pennines and using the A1 - the advantage with that is that usually it's not as congested, and if there is an accident, there are regular turnoffs as it's not a motorway.
Thanks all.
Looks like it is going to be a nightmare. I'll more than likely just use the M40 and just deal with it.
