Went shopping today and realised all the burgers were off the shelf within Tesco.

Does anyone know how long the contamination has been running for?

What's your views/opinions on the current crisis?

Not sure how long it has been going on for, but if you believe the papers - a long time.

Personally I'm not bothered that I could have eaten horse. Whilst the idea of eating a horse is not brilliant, i won't harm me and I enjoyed the burger at the time. I guess I would be more concerned about the traces of pork (up to 29% in some cases - so not really traces) found in beef products if I do not consume pork for religious reasons etc.

Though of course there are issues of fraud as well - as apparently horse meat is a lot cheaper than beef . I guess it's also a matter of trust - if something says 100% beef, then I would expect it to contain 100% beef.

Thought I would also share this as it made me giggle this week.

I dont buy burgers anymore - I make them myself really easy to do and much healthier

All you need is some mince (we use turkey or pork), some breadcrumbs and an egg and mix together adding salt, pepper and any other spices or herbs you like

Then make the burgers and put in fridge for about 20 minutes - we put ours in the George formby but they should cook in the oven ok.

As for Tesco saw this and laughed...

hahaha! The jokes have been brilliant ever since the incident. Just seen that video now, and its HILARIOUS! I personally don't think its that bad to have horsemeat however, by not informing the customer. Its fraud.

Lets see what happens eh?

Thanks for all your comments too πŸ™‚
