This was a very sad case, and one where I think the judge got it spot on, though, possibly she cold have had some treatment at home under supervision, rather than all of it in hospital.

What is sad is that it seems that she was pushed towards this action (of course, I'm going on media reports, so it may not be wholly accurate) by the authorities actions, and their attitude that what was important was the children's longevity, whereas the parents (100% correct as far as I am concerned) is that their quality of life was far more important. The one exception to this seems to have been to social worker, who seemed to get on very well with the parents, but was removed from the case, and resigned in protest - so not only was there a very good social worker, but the service has now lost one of the good ones.

I wish Tania a speedy recovery, and hope that she and her husband can find a way to come to terms with this.
