We've been through the brilliant songs of the 70's ( Elton John, The Clash, led Zepplein) to the awful songs of the 80's (a-ha, Air supply, Bananarama) into the 90's we had such greats as nirvana, U2, Madonna & REM.
What was the best generation of music for you ?

The 90's was definetely my favourite music era. I started to really get into my music in 91 when I bought Sally Cinnaman by The Stone Roses,I was really into the whole baggy scene-Happy Mondays,James,Charlatans..etc..
Step on by the Happy Mondays must be one of my fav 90's songs,my list could go on and on though.. π π
Abba and Queen were excellent in my younger days, plus Elton John and Madonna (in her earlier stuff anyway) - do like some of the modern stuff though as well.
Abba - I like your style actd π Always a good tune ( unless it's Pierce Brosnan singing in Mamma Mia).
Elton John - your song is also a favourite , this was my 1st dance tune at my wedding - but I do actually prefer Ewan Macgregor's version from "Moulin Rouge"

Talking of Moulin Rouge we had 'Come What May' also by Ewan Macgregor and Nicole Kidman as our first dance!
How can you say the 80s was a poor era for music?
What about U2 - Joshua Tree? or Born in the USA by Springsteen?
and I bet you bought Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits on cd!!

There was some good stuff that came out of the eighties,there was also some really rubbish stuff aswell.. π π
Eighties was a very decadent (sp?!) period, music reflected it ... Yes, some good stuff, but some appalling stuff as well! I have to admit, I liked the appalling stuff growing up ... now appreciate the better stuff from the eighties!
Nineties: chart music was not my thing during the decade. Rock music came to the fore in the early and later period of the decade: Offspring, Wheatus (very loosely referred to as rock!), Blink 182, Linkin Park ... British music was good, saw a few bands at Uni ... most of them died a death though (maybe me seeing them was the ultimate curse!).
The whole Blur /Oasis thing.
