Hi wasnt sure which topic to put this in. On monday i was mugged at knife point http://www.thecomet.net/news/knife_robber_steals_man_s_wedding_ring_in_letchworth_park_1_1429901

Does anyone know if there is a charity that could help as i lost the only money i had, im on jsa but got turned down for a crisis loan went to citizens advice and while they fought very hard on my behalf had no luck with the jobcentre or my local council

i have 3 children and my wife is 34 weeks pregnant with no more money coming in till monday

Any help/advice appreciated

Lee

Hi Lee

That's not only terrible news that you were mugged, but also the follow up treatment about the crisis loan - without giving any personal details, did they say why they turned you down?

It may be worth contacting childrens charities such as Action For Children or Barnados to see if they can assist.

Try your local children's centres - there's one at Icknield, one at Chestnut Tree and also try Homestart north Herts - best to ring them first.

got in contact with the local children's centre in icknield way and they directed me to the salvation army who kindly gave me a food parcel with enough food to last till Monday so things are beginning to look up. i cant believe there is not a victim of crime charity(that i could find, there may well be) to help people who have been left in real financial difficulty as a result of some lowlife

Brilliant Lee - glad you got some quick help, and excellent that you are able to look on the positive side of this 🙂 As a matter of interest, did the police put you through to Victim Support?

Glad you got a food parcel - the charities really do a fantastic job and for the people who need and deserve it

As for the lowlife lets hope he gets caught and sent to prison (however he will probably get a slap on the wrist)

The important thing to remember is that you weren't hurt

However don't be too proud to accept some counselling if you offered it
