Another case of the media hounding someone good out of their position for something that may or may not have happened years ago? I must admit I don't personally know a lot about the man, but once again it seems very disappointing news. Is this a blow for young people in London, or just another one of those things ...?
Hmmm, I was very pleased about the changes in London - having personally been impacted directly by some of the corruption of the previous gang of buddies.
However, Ray Lewis does appear to have fallen into all the traps of the last 48hours and laid himself open...
I don't know about Ray's past and I think that his lack of political schooling was evident. The key question for me is, at what point can you be released from your past. Ray was seen as someone who could make a difference to the lives of young people in London. And yet the shackles of his past were shaken.
Akint i feel a similar way...
I saw a quote in the Independent (ok i was in the garage and saw a picture of Ray on the cover - its little too high brow for me)
ANYWAY... it had iain duncan smith saying something like
we are so concerned with peoples past we'll never have a future
To my mind Mr Lewis was the victim of knife crime himself..... only he was stabbed by the British media... the more i read about him the less substance there seemed to be to any of it....
Huge shame π
