I wanted to lose a stone in 2012 and run a 5k - well I did the run in 31 minutes which is probably rubbish but I was pleased to have done it . In terms of weight I have put on 2lbs so a dismal failure!! I am putting it down to gaining muscle but nobody is buying that!

How did you do?

5k in 31 minutes? That's 10k in an hour or 6 miles an hour. Sounds very respectable to me 🙂

Mine was to lose a stone ( lost a couple the year before) - got to 22lbs lost at the last count in 2012(haven't weighed myself over the Xmas period though so may have put a couple of lbs back on).

SM - 5k in 31 mins sounds impressive mate, well done.

I did brilliantly - I made no resolutions at all and I've stuck to them religiously. That either 100% success, or with a division by zero, that's an infinite success rate 🙂

My resolution is to get back to the gym and get fit. I always have this resolution every year but never seem to stick to it. I really want to keep fit long-term as opposed to stopping after the first month. What's a good form of motivation to make me continue going on a regular basis?

Thanks

Mine is to cut down the drink - wasn't crazy high but also not exactly under 21 units per week, every week. So far, so good, 0, 0, 4 units for last 3 weeks (does this mean I can have 59 tonight?!)

Feel good for it and saving a few quid.

Anyone else battling the demon drink? 🙂

I'm not battling it but stopped some time ago - mainly to help with weight loss - like you I have had 5 cans of beer this year

Worryingly I saw my brother in law recently and he was definitely drinking too much and before midday!!

Hey Mario,

Well last week was 9 units so creeping up but still happy with progress.

How did you stop - any techniques or tips you'd pass along?

Best
