Did anyone read the news articles regarding the names that some children get given; Terry Bull, Justin Case, Stan Still, etc http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7909561.stm

Made me wonder whether anyone else put a lot of effort into the name bestoed on your child. I remember after we settled on a couple of names that we wrote the names out, then the initials just to check that there was not any unfortunate soundings in the name or initials. 🙂

We did the same as there were some unfortunate clashes with a few of the names we chose and our surname ;o)

We even checked the names out with a savvy 9 year old we knew at the time..... interesting exercise as he came up with a the name 'Harold' as being the only name-calling-proof name!!??

We ended up choosing names that had meaning, either about that phase of our life or what we thought the child would be like as we'd got to know them during the pregnancy... quite fun to have a story to as they grow up to tell them why we called them what we did - or is that just a bit egotistical??? 😮

ive seen some absoloutly horrible names in my old job (tax credit adviser-Stop hissing at the back im not there anymore!)
some of the worst were things like porche, mercedes chanel, and people who put whole football teams as middle names (or one person whos midle name was a football team!)

Blaine - you have to tell us what team! You can't just leave us hangin like that!

Now middle names - that's another conversation althogether...

We gave all our kids my wifes maiden name as one of their middle names - so it wasn't lost altogether.

We always wanted twins... judas & jezearbel.... 😉

I have to admit the Anna Sasin was my favourite... Could be very cool, or it could go horribly wrong...

I thought naming our kids was hard...but try naming a puppy! Not only do you have all the 'people' names you could use but then you have all the other names plus everyone wants to have a say in what its called!
