Completely agree with 1626, the whole family court system thrives on cases like this - lawyers help with the fabrication so they get paid, judge is busy so he gets a bonus, contact centres and cafcass have jobs etc. Perjury should be applicable in family courts.

My money is on a suspended sentence and community work. I think he only sent her family members to jail to speed up Ethan's safe recovery.

Looks like she got away with it - seems they aren't going to press charges at the request of the father.

I think this is wrong - while I can understand the reason for the father not wanting the glare of publicity, when looking to prosecute (so a criminal case), the CPS should be considering two things - firstly, the likelihood of conviction, and second whether it's in the public interest.

The first is clear cut, she abducted her child and there is plenty of evidence that she did so. Not only that, Judge Wildblood has said that he would have imposed a 28 day sentence if she was found guilty, so the likelihood of conviction is pretty much 100%.

As to whether it's in the public interest - I can't see how it can't be. Surely it is in the public interest that someone so clearly in contempt of court and the rule of law should be punished.

I have to say I am mightily pissed off by this decision.

Same here the little runt has got away with it but I completely agree with the Father in his reasoning for dropping the charges he didn't want anymore publicity on his Son Imagine when the little lads older it will look like Daddy has got Mummy banged up and you can bet she would of played on it like [censored].

The courts should of punished her from the off for contempt of court it's shocking how it was left to the Father to be decided that's always going to completely ruin the family at the end of the day.

At least the whole case has highlighted the injustice faced by fathers I suppose it sends a message in that the judge banged her parents up for contempt of court.

Dad has behaved brilliantly throughout the case it's just a shame she can't shape up for the sake of their son she's already moaning she has only seen their son for an hour supervised now she will know how it feels when the shoes on the other foot and all that.

Love the title Slim - LOL

1626 - agree 100%

Luckily for her CF was compassionate and let her off.

Something tells me Judge Wildblood would have given her a custodial sentence like her mum and mum's partner.
This means a criminal record and harder for CM to get a job and support herself/ her child.
