What's everyones view on this, I find it hard to believe that people can't manage to go a few days without fuel if needed.

Every petrol station I have past today has been packed.

Do you think the drivers should be striking??

And who remembers the last strike!!

I remember the last one - I did have a stash of fuel for that, but that's because I used a motorbike and the tanks was about 15 litres, and I normally had fuel stored anyway for my microlight.

I will be mightily p*ssed off if we can't get fuel next week, we are going down to Dorset for a week and public transport isn't an option when there's 5 people and 2 dogs and the place we're going is out of the way.

This whole panic buying has been spurred on by the governments and press reports that have been put out.

I have half a tank of diesel and hopefully there will still be fuel to re fill it when it's empty

When is the strike planned for? I thought my local filling station was busy 2 days ago when I filled up. Going without petrol for a short time is not a problem for us, but I do feel for the people who live way out of town.

It's not planned yet, and they have to give a minimum 7 days notice. There's a lot of panic buying at the moment, but presumably once everyone has filled their tanks, they won't need to again for a while, so hopefully if will settle down again until the strike occurs, if at all.

I think people are mad panic buying when there is no set dates yet. I can understand that some people can't do with out petrol. Like for me the only way i can get to work is by car, as its too far to walk and also there is no bus roots near work. I haven't got a bike also can not afford one or taxis's Also there's the people who need to get to hospital what will suffer to without their car. Goverment make it worse urging people to stock up.

I think that a few ill placed comments by people who should know better have once again made everyone panic. At least the government will have a fe million pound extra in the coffers due to the tax and vat!! It has also stopped people talking about the "granny" tax too.

Cynical - me???

Very cynical. But I don't think the government are intelligent enough to do that. The media are just as much to blame though. And then they basically blame the government for setting fire to a woman in her kitchen!!
They're as bad as each other.

Apparently a garage had to switch off its pumps to stop someone trying to fill up a wheelie bin!!

And another was stopped from filling up a boot full of jam jars!!

Now that is stupid!!!
