[Solved] Fathers Rights Good Family Lawyer

Hi,

I have separated from my partner for 18 months now and she has completely stopped all access to my two wonderful children (2yr and 4 yrs). She demands i pay maintenance which I am sure she spends on herself and not my children. On top of that I have not seen them for 18 months.

Can anyone recommend a cheap family lawyer?

Hi

Your local CAB will be able to provide you with details of local firms. You can phone around to get information and prices from them.

You don't necessarily need a lawyer to do this though, many of our dads self rep. It's not as daunting as it seems and there is plenty of info out there to help you do that.

The other alternative is a McKenzie Friend, they can guide and support you through the process but make sure you find a recommended one as it's an unregulated industry.

Firstly though, you will have to attempt mediation. If this fails or the mother won't attend, the mediator can sign a form that allows you to make the court application.

Have a good look through our stickies at the top of the Legal Eagle section and feel free to keep posting, we will do what we can to assist.

Thanks for all this. I ended up speaking with a mediator I found a solicitor online and going down the mediation route for now to see where it gets me. I will keep the thread posted with my journey. Thank you.

Sorry but I've edited your post to delete the link to a commercial business. We are not allowed to promote commercial enterprises, but by all means please continue to share your experiences with us.
