What do you think about this father who has turned his own son into the police? Can't imagine how a dad could do that - and now the son is going to jail for 3 years. Doesn't say much for their father-son relationship! The kid was only keeping the gun for a mate - and is standing by his word not to give up their name...more than can be said for the father in this story. Would you have done it? 😕
He did the right thing - it was a gun afterall! Wouldn't he have been implicated if he hadn't call in the old bill?
just found this - take a look :
One of the most difficult things a dad could ever do. But one of the fundamentals of fatherhood, is integrity. Although it sounds harsh, if the crime was violent or sexual, can you honestly say you would not say anything, and by silence tell the son "it's ok"
Really tough call, but yes I think it was the right thing todo.
The judge's reduction of sentence due to the father's honesty was really good, but the father thought it was still not reduced enough... I really hope the legal system will allow the father (& family) and son to have good contact with them to try and ensure the son turns away from the criminal elements afterwards...
