Yeah, I'm the same - the bar has been set pretty high by the existing bloggers 🙂

agreed!!!!!
Whilst in my head I can write I am sure the reality is that my blogs would only serve to help people sleep and I would probably put the company that makes sleeping tablets out of business!!!
I am not sure I could do every week although I would consider every now and again!!
There was a blog a while back (Tim?) where he was trying stuff out - perhaps we could have different dads trying daft things out 😆
actd makes a good point. Have a guest blog from a dad every Thursday. "Guest Thursday" ...you can tell I am in the title giving business. Though I think that is as good a title as "man on a ledge" ......another topic another day.....anyway DadTalk could choose someone from those who put their hands up. Give them a deadline to receive their blog to be published. A bit of pressure but what is life without a bit of pressure! Also it need not be a current event being blogged about.
May even become a regular thing.
I'd sign up to that, a guest spot every now and then.
Whilst I'd love to write a steady blog, don't think I've got the time to do it regularly... Plus, being a bloke I've got "commitment issues" :p
I would sign up to that too - however I would need help with a subject!!!
So tell me when and what to write about and I will get on with it!!
The guest thursday blog is a great idea - but for the moment I would like a perm thursday blogger.
However you have, as usual, got me thinking and I am considering having an additional thursday blog - a guest video blogger - does that sound of interest ? I'm missing our video blog (vlog?) and loved euans video blog each month. 8)
Hmmmm, doing a vlog somehow feels more scary than a blog. That is probably because I have never tried one.
Definitely a thought though.
How about (trying to neatly sidestep the video idea, being terminally camera shy myself) putting a subject out and then having different dads post their idea on the same subject over a number of weeks?
Now that sounds interesting
Some potential topics:
Kid Bedrooms - how untidy should we allow them to get?
Do we allow our 14 year old's girlfriend in his bedroom at any point!!!
Coping with the loss of a grandparent
Actually I think I could do this blog thing!!
Don't think too hard Gooner! I think that one sounds like a good idea though.
Have you reached a decision yet Gooner? We are all sitting here with our writing fingers hovering above the keyboard!!!

We are?
Er, I mean yes, we are 🙂
Hey Actd
I am sure you could write brilliantly on a number of topics
Probably so. Except the 'brilliantly' bit 🙁
Super Mario I was thinking about you on World Book Day, because of your avatar and my son having a Luigi costume. No he did not wear it. He decided he would wear a plain green top and go as Yoda. When I asked how anyone would know he was Yoda he said "I'll just tell them of course!" while looking at me as if I was somehow dunce not to have worked that out; Green top, so must be Yoda.
All that thought and planning came to an abrupt end when he realised he did not have any plain green tops and the fact he had not wanted to go shopping on any of the previous 2 weekends was somehow not relevant but the fact we could not magic a green top out of the air was very relevant......
maybe the start of a blog.......hmmmm.... any pressure of deadlines and it will all fall apart though.....
Think it is funny that World Book Day often ends up as a film or TV character!!!
Miss those conversations...not!!!
There are still vacancies - worth reading the blogs if you haven't already (and they are worth going back to the start, there are some real gems in there).
iamtheblaine - We are still looking for paid bloggers for the main site. Feel free to PM me with details.
However a while back I floated the idea of setting up a blogging board on the forum. Where members will be able to run a thread as a blog allowing you to update whenever you please. After much discussion in the DadTalk offices, I managed to beat everyone into submission. So shortly (maybe a few weeks to a month) you can expect to see a dad blogger forum board appear.

Great stuff on the site. I'd love to be involved if you feel my articles fit in.
I blog about creativity - often linked to early years creative play, creative writing, how childhood memories influence us and education. I'm a father of three, ages 6, 4 and 1, boy, girl, girl.
Here are some recent blogs that may be relevant and show my style and approach. I usually write one or two a week and would happily take on a topic if it fell within my expertise. I could re-visit these, or supply new ones if needed.
I'm currently planning out a batch of blogs about creative play - for Dad's - who, like me, suddenly find themselves as primary carer and need some inspiration on engaging and creative activities without spending any money.
Children are not sophisticated (about age appropriate television)
A record for your life (about using a record player as a tactile activity)
Why Creative Writing is important – especially for children
Why our children need to write Science Fiction
My headmaster still owes me £50 (what inspires children may not be what we think)
Andy
I started Blogging 6 weeks ago on the site and it is great.
I thinksome of your stuff on creativity is interesting - as I teach magicains anderformers about creativity it is intresting how we stifle a childrens creatvity - and it often happens inline with education points as well.
Would be nice to see some of your stuff on general life.
Marc
