Hi Folks
I have a standard built in fridge bought about 2 years ago from Currys Essentials. Lately, I've noticed that it seems to turn off after about 20 minutes by itself. This of course causes the ice to start melting. However, the only way to get it started again is to turn the temperature knob.
Would anybody know how to fix the problem?
Thanks
When you say it turns itself off - what exactly is it doing? The motors in fridges don't run constantly. If it's not keeping cool, it could be that the door isn't closing properly (I've just had to replace hinges on our fridge, but that's about 7 years old) or it could be that it's too full. Also, make sure any drain's aren't blocked (sometimes there's one at the bottom at the back). A fridge at the correct temperature shouldn't have ice in it as they run just above freezing (assuming there isn't a freezer section)
Otherwise, it could be just that the temperature setting needs playing with.
Hi
Thanks for you reply actd. It's kust not keeping cool but the door is always shut properly & it's not too full.
