So DadTalkers - it's Budget Day today.

What can Alistair Darling do for you today that would make a real difference to your finances ? Scared that your gonna be hit in your pocket or are you expecting a financial boost as its election year?

Any thoughts ?

Resign?

Not that anyone else from any party would make much of a difference. Budget normally only makes a small difference to me - the only time it made a big difference was about 8 years ago when IR35 was introduced - that cost me about £8,000 a year as I was a self employed contractor. That, plus insecure contract market made me get out so in my case, government got a lot less tax out of me as my earnings dropped a lot.

What did he say? Did i miss anything or was it 'reduce the deficit, but not to fast cos there's an election coming' or did he go for broke and give away £100,000 to anyone voting labour in the election???

Whatever, i suspect if the other side get in, we are all doomed.... public spending = £0.00, and redundancies ++

Ho hum, at least Tottenham won :0)

As far as I can make out (only briefly read The Guardian this morning whilst eating my Shredded Wheat) its mostly careful careful.

One good thing has come out of it (not for me personally but for an industry that earns more than any other in this country) the Games Industry in this country has finally received the tax breaks that the TV, Movie and Music industries have been receiving for a number of years now.
