[Solved] Best way of viewing/uploading an image?

Hi Folks

Can someone please advice to the best way of uploading an image and sending it to a contact, other than sending it as an attachment?

At present, the way I do it is take a picture of the image on phone, store it in the My Pictures folder on my PC, and then send it as an attachment. However, I want the other person to view the image as it is rather than having to open an attachment.

Thanks in advance

Once it is saved in your pictures I think you should be able to copy it and then paste it into your email

Sure I have done before!!

Hi

I think each email provider works slightly differently.

Some will allow you to cut and past some won't but try and see if it works with yours.

Some email packages allow you to insert an image into an email, rather than attach, so as you open the email, the picture shows. Alternatives are to upload it to dropbox and then share the file, open an account (free as far as I know) with things like instagram, imageshack etc.
If you are taking it on your phone, and your friends are viewing it on their phone, then whatsapp is brilliant for doing this, as well as sending texts etc via 3G. However, you can't use whatsapp on a PC, it has to be linked to a phone.

Hi Folks

Many thanks for your replies, so far.

How do I upload my photos to drop box? Do I first need to get a hard copy and then scan it on my PC?

The photos in question are stored on my mobile (HTC Wildfire S).

Thanks.

dropbox is available on the android play store - you'll need to install it and register, but once done, I think there's an automatic setting to download photos from your phone to dropbox (don't forget, this will be using data - so make sure you have sufficient data allowance to do this).

You can also install dropbox on your PC - once you've done this, you will get a new folder on your PC called dropbox - you can drag stuff onto it from your PC and it automatically syncs with dropbox. You can also get ES file explorer app on your phone (free I think) which allows you to do the same on your phone.

When you have the photo in dropbox, if you right click on the photo and say share the photo (or you can create a folder and share the whole folder), it will create a link which you can email to someone which will allow you to share.

Dropbox can take a bit of getting used to, but it is very good once you do. I keep all important documents on it so I can access them anywhere, have a folder which my whole family can access to share photos etc, but also have folders that only I can access, have a couple of spreadsheets on which I share with someone at work so when I update the spreadsheet, they can instantly access the spreadsheet (but not any other files) at any time and know they have the latest version. Just an incredibly useful tool.
