[Solved] Back to Work Tomorrow

After being off now for 3 weeks and 2 and a half days I have finally got to drag myself back to work tomorrow (thats right, I start back on a Saturday as thats the day my working week starts). Not sure how I am going to be. Hopefully I wont be to tired as I am a bus driver and those two things don't mix well 😯 . My works have been wonderful with everything as they have let me have time off when our Daughter was in hospital twice this year. They let me chop and change my holiday weeks around for that and the let me have a weeks holls then 2 weeks paternity, plus a couple of days before it.
The thing about my job is that its shift work which can be a pain as the start and finish times are usually different every day. I do 12 hour days so they can be long and drag but the good side of this is that I work 4 days a week. Take my first week back, I have got to work Saturday, Sunday (I do get paid a bit more for these days so that always helps) Monday and Tuesday. Then I am off for the following 6 days as my 3 days off are at the end of this week then at the beginning of next week. Which just suits me fine. There aren't many jobs out there like this one and from what I know we are on the highest wage for Bus drivers in the country, other than possibly London.

Hope you go ok back at work - just in case you have forgotten here are some top tips:

1. You are not allowed to change any note whatsoever
2. Schoolkids are your enemy
3. You have to pull up 5 metres from the bus stop so everyone has to walk
4. You indicate then move within one thousandth of a second

and most importantly - you are bigger than every one else so it is YOUR road!!!

Hope I don't need to get on your bus...looks like I may have to walk 😀 D D

I'm sure you've heard Bob Newhart's Bus Driving School - if not, definitely worth listening to 😆

Bus drivers around here are notorious for being grumpy. However, I have met a few that break that mould and are really pleasant!!

I found out from my work that due to length of me being there (ie: not very long) I only get three days paternity!!! Rest is being made up of my holidays (which I don't take as everyone else got in there before me!!) ... They were great when I broke my toe ... Anyone else would have taken the two/three weeks off, not me: one day and hobbled back in!!! I've told them that I am keeping my phone on me ... if I get the call, I am off.

Looking forward to my paternity ... but going to dread the "going back to work" feeling.
