Pension drawdown,
Hi, I am trying to find out if the c s a can use a pension drawdown as an income, if so I might have to pay my ex 15% of it, I got a clean brake order when I went to court , and understood that my ex had no claim against any of my future finances. The only thing I have to pay is c s a for my daughter. I have 3 pension polices, one of which I would like to cash in to pay for an extension to my property, but if the c s a take this as an income I will have to put plans on hold. Can anyone help?
Hi there
I don't know a great deal about this side of things, I've had a scout round but haven't come up with much that can help.
You would need to seek advice on this from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Child Maintenance Options, or maybe the Pensions Advisory Service. I think lump sums are normally classed as savings, and pension as income, but I'm not 100% on that.
Some solicitors offer a free initial consultation, this might be helpful to you.
I'll move this thread into the Child Maintenance section, our expert at CMO may be able to shed some light.
Good luck.
Definitely go to the CAB - they are doing pensionwise pension advice now
Thanks for your help, Will let you know how I get on.
