Does anybody have any experience of challenging the new CMS system and the monthly figure they said you had to pay?
After 10 years of CSA payments, my new monthly payment via the CMS has gone up considerably. The new figure equates to 19.3% of my regular gross monthly income (after pension deductions) or 27% of my NETT which, after regularly paying 20% of my NETT via the CSA for the last 10 years, I find very unfair indeed.
Have you checked the calculator - assuming you have no arrears, the top amount for 3+ children is 16% of gross as far as I am aware, so it does sound like you are overpaying, and if you have few children, then it's less than that.
Thanks for your reply.. Yes I've checked the calculator and I've spoken to them. The issue seems to be the starting point for this case. It's a new case so all they have to work off is a gross figure off hmrc from 2015 tax year.
My issue with that is that my pension contributions have changed dramatically recently and the figure includes my company car (pbik) which I don't believe should be used in the calculation.
I'm currently appealing.
Thanks
