[Solved] Toddler 'kindly' shares his germs

Hi fellow Dad Talkers !!

I saw the articles on the Dad Talk home page and there was one about Swine flu update.

It left me wondering how to deal with my toddler. He had a runny nose etc last week. One thing he always does is put his fingers in other people's mouth.
It is how he greets other babies and toddlers. It seems to be part of his greeting when close up. But of course he frequently puts his fingers (and toys etc) in his mouth.
So, at toddler group he might be playing with the cooker or animals and reach out and touch the lips of a nearby child. It may be only a brief touch but that is enough to spread germs !!!

Anyway, my wife now has had a sore throat for the last few days.... I suspect he gave it to her.

Other than attempting to jump in and stop him poking his fingers in mouths... can anyone come up with some ideas: either helpful or humerous 😀

Finally, I wonder whether toddler groups, play groups and nurserys have increased how often they clean their toys (because like the TV ad says: germs live on hard surfaces for a long time)?

My girl picked up the winter vomitting bug a few weeks ago and we were all really sick soon afterwards. I'm sure it was from one of the centres we go to. What can you do?
I really don't think that nurseries clean things as often as they should do, but then they say it's good for kids to get some germs. She's definitely better now and hopefully stronger for it!
