Sleep schedule

We have a wonderful six month old that is sleeping 12 hours. At 6pm she has bedtime and my wife is going to bed around 8pm. I am an extrovert that has a million thoughts per minute. I usually watch a rerun of a favorite show to occupy my mind. Recently my wife doesn’t want a tv on, and I cannot fall asleep. I fall asleep around 1130 with the tv on, always turn it off before sleeping, but now I cannot sleep at all. How can I reduce boredom and or constant thinking, so I can fall asleep?

thank you

Hi,

Exercise is great for helping you sleep. I usually go for a 30 minute run. It knocks me out at bedtime.

reading a book will help. Kindle on your phone is convenient, and if you set it to white on black background, there is little light given off to disturb your wife.

If it is important for you to watch your show, then you can just go to another room for a while, and when you come to the bedroom, turn it on on your phone with minimum brightness, use headphones and in half a minute you will definitely fall asleep. If I needed to look at something, we put a large pillow between us, and the wife put on a sleep mask
