- Research shows we eat an average 3,000 calories more that we need to on Christmas Day alone, so get prepared. Two days before Christmas (today!!), add 100-150 of a high fibre cereal such as All Bran to your meals as an extra course. This will make you feel less hungry, so you eat less.
- Have a bowl of cereal before you go to a party - not eating the canapes cuts excess calorie consumption in half.
- Save your calories for the things you really love; avoid unnecessary starters and snacks such as crisps or cheese straws. And say no to after-dinner chocolates
- Limit the choice of dishes - most diners add an extra 400 calories just tasting all the different things on offer.
- Sit next to skinny people at meals - it will encourage you to limit your portions - and keep passing dishes around: research shows that proximity to food determines how much you pile on the plate.
Hmm...... wonder how many of us will stick to any of those ideas..... interestingly it doesn't mention alcohol which surely must account for a whole load of the calories we consume at crimbo..
Have a good one Dadtalkers
... just about to play some board games. This will include munchies and beverages.... I might even consume some chocolate !!!
I wonder if there would be a riot if i provided carrot sticks instead?
I will just have to keep wondering because the munchies sound much better and I want to be pekkish π
