Hi guys,
This Thursday is the day I go in for a vasectomy reversal and I'll be honest.......... I'm brickin it.
Any of you lot been through it? If so, how was your recovery etc.
And please no horror stories :p
Thanks
Wow. This takes courage π I've never been through it but I know someone who had a v. and I think it would be a major step to reverse it. Well done in my book! π
As with any surgery, take it easy, don't rush anything and ask the medics lots of questions.
oh no, you don't get away without the stories, this opportunity is too much to pass up (I have told this on here a couple of years ago).
I have been through it twice, because I did also have the reversal done.
The first time, it was done under a local anaesthetic, so I couldn't feel a thing. However, I knew exactly what they were doing and I could hear what was going on, plus I am very squeamish so I came very close to passing out.
The reversal was done under a general. When I came around, I had two small beads on the outside of my testicles, which are attached to a nylon filament (like fishing line) which goes through the skin and into the tubes to keep them in place while they heal.. After a couple of weeks or so, I went back to the hospital to have the filaments removed. The nurse said she hadn't done this before, so cut the stitch holding the bead and pulled it out. I went home and discovered that, in her inexperience, she didn't realise there were two, so one was left in - I couldn't be bothered to go back so cut the remaining stitch myself and pulled it out - what I didn't realise was the filament was 3 or 4 inches long, so took me longer to pull it out than I was expecting. I nearly passed out again (purely psychological).
The last time I went for a vasectomy, I made sure I was well and truly knocked out - much more sensible π
When I had the vasectomy done in the first place, I was under local, wide awake and had full blown conversation during the whole thing,
This time round, absolutely brickin it but so far all's good. Apart from a little swelling and bruising, no pain at all. To be honest, it's only been a week and I'm fed up with sitting on my backside all the time lol. But that's it now. No more operations on my tackle again............ Ever. The boys have been through enough
btw - I forgot to mention, two of my children were born after the reversal, so it definitely works π
