Evening folks,
I have written a position statement previously but I wanted some hint’s and tips for writing an effective position statement which will make a difference at my FHDRA hearing?
Im currently fighting for full residency of our child due to safeguarding concerns.
hi,
there is good guidance here: https://childlawadvice.org.uk/information-pages/writing-a-position-statement/
there is also a template there that you can use write up your statement. I would suggest to keep it to 2 pages. use bullet points and give brief background to your relationship with your ex, when it ended etc. also mention what kind of contact you have been having with child, if any. you can mention incidents which you think are of concern and impacting the child, and why you are seeking a residency order for yourself.
have you had an initial phone call with cafcass, and have they sent you a safeguarding letter?
you could base your statement/arguments around the points mentioned in the welfare checklist, take a look: https://childlawadvice.org.uk/information-pages/the-welfare-checklist/
