Hello
After our first hearing ( directions ) both parties were asked to complete witness statements, to be handed in within three weeks.
I have used a template as a guide, and I have completed most of it using Word. I have come to the part where I am to put down any more information that would be relevant. With this I want to complete a time line in chronological order, with all relevant dates etc throughout our relationship. I have heard about being able to add evidence- although I'm unsure what I can use?, and how. Most of it will be me being able to give accurate dates etc of things, although in terms of evidence I have very little. Could this also be photos of me with the children etc?
I'm a little stuck with this part, I would appreciate any advice and examples
Thanks
Jonathan
If you want to put a chronology in, you can do that. Same goes for photos that you might want to include. You can use texts, emails, any professional documents you might have.
If you add anything, you need to refer to it in the written section and then write (exhibit 1) and mark the evidence with the same reference and attach to the back of the statement.
Thanks Yoda
That's helpful and give me a clearer idea- I've done the rest of my statement and I'm happy with it, after using the C120 witness statement form as a guide which was given to me by the legal advisor.
In terms of photos, just as an example I wanted to use some of recently when I took my eldest abroad- to show a happy child, the two of use went, although now it's claimed he does not want to see me etc. And when I use the photos, will I need several copies of each to send to each person involved with the case? And when yo say attach the evidence to the back, would i need to use one piece of paper for each point of evidence?
And text messages, I do have a few that could be helpful although how do I use them - they are on my phone?
Emails are different as I can print them off
I don't know how far to go in terms of evidence- most of it will be what I write - my word only, although I have a good memory and will get a lot of dates in order etc
Sorry I may seem I'm over analysing things, it's just that I really don't want to use my solicitor and want to get it right
Jonathan
