Hello Dads,
I need to write my witness statement for the Final Hearing, and wondering if anyone has any advice? Or better still can point me in the direction of an example one online?
The jist of it is;
I/we have 2yr old daughter (turning 3yrs in Dec), that I'm currently seeing on Tuesday evenings and Friday days each week - but I want to increase this to regular weekends that include overnights, at around 3 or 4x overnights per fortnight.
And also be able to take her on holiday for a few weeks a year at least - am currently being offered 4x days in 2023 (in the UK only) by my ex.
Contact in principle has been agreed (with mother as RP) and re CAFCASS there are "no safeguarding issues".
Thanks in advance!
hi,
you requests seem reasonable. would suggest you seek alternate weekends and half of holidays, midweek overnights if you can manage it. could ask court to gradually increase overnights as child starts nursery/school. what about special occasions like birthdays, xmas? video calls?
here is simple witness statement template you can follow: https://childlawadvice.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Witness-Statement.pdf
with adobe reader you can try edit it or convert it to a word doc.
@bill337 Thanks! I actually have a template already, I guess it's the content I need a steer on - the tone of it mostly.
