My wife has taken my son to a refuge 4 days ago. I only know this because my mother in law informed me, and said it was because I was controlling her. I told my m-in-law that maybe I had controlled certain parts but certainly not in any malicious way. The main problem is that we stopped communicating so I had no idea there was any problems.

Nobody has been in touch with me, I have no idea where they are, what do I do next?

Hi,

You could contact childrens services and police to carry out welfare check. It is likely they will check, but they will not tell you where they are.

I imagine she will make an application for a non molestation order and an occupation order so that she can live in the house with your son and you will have to find alternative accommodation.  You might need legal advice but in the first instance there are some guides on the advicenow.org.uk website which will explain the orders and you'll have more awareness of what to expect.  I'm sorry but this is probably going to be very messy
