Can someone please give me some advice.

I currently have an order in place which is followed. Whereby I pick up and drop my 4 year old son off (Fri-Sun,Sat-Sun, Sun - depending on week) this journey can be 1.5-2hours each way. So on a sunday visit i can do 6 hours worth of travelling thats without me getting home again! This wasnt a problem as i want to see my son. The issue i have now is i have been advised by my consultant that i cannot spend too long in the car (i have back and leg problems and am currently waiting scans/surgery and further investigation, i dont think this is temporary) as its making me worse (public transport would be worse as it would involve going via london tubes trains and buses with my 4 yr old...not good if Arsenal or Spurs are kicking out)

I have sent letters to my sons mother to resolve amicabally, asking her to share in some of the travel and have suggested options, she refuses everytime and says she is open to suggestions but is not prepared to make any, even though she is happy to refuse any option i give her.

I cannot afford a solicitor at the moment(i spent £18k the frst time around just so i could see him) and would prefer to represent myself, i am due back in court in 3 weeks and what to know where i stand. Can anyone help?

thanks

Hi Dal

I assume by the fact that you are due in court in 3 weeks, you have a fair idea of the process, it may be worth reading yoji's guides to representing yourself (top of the legal section) to fill in any gaps you may have. I would say (but it's only an opinion) that you have a very good cause to ask for a variation. There are no rules on what is going to happen in court, but I'd have every bit of information possible to back up your case.

Are there any specific questions that you'd like advice on?
