Hi all, I have a 9 yr old daughter who I did not know about until she was 6. Her mother is not the nicest of persons and has been in trouble with the law, she has now been moved to a woman's hostel 2 hours away and I am unable to access my little girl. I have had social services involved and they cannot help me with getting on the birth certificate as she listed someone else.... I need PR desperately but solicitors aren't cheap... not that I wouldn't pay anything for my little girl.
I need some advice on how to get this moved quickly as I believe my daughter would be better in my care and would not have to be uprooted and move schools
Thanks for reading
Siobhan
Hi There,
.
You are able to apply for a "search and find" order through the family courts, I'm not sure which form you need for this though.
.
You can represent yourself through court which keeps the cost as low as possible for you, and you could also make use of solicitors free 30 min sessions to try and gain some advice.
.
There is a lot of information at the top of the legal section on how to self represent in court so take a look.
